Angela Kapalko, PA-C, AAHIVS, is a graduate of the PCOM class of 2007 Physician Assistant program. Since graduation, she has specialized in HIV treatment and primary care for PLWH. For the first 10 years of her career, she was the senior research coordinator and staff clinician at Philadelphia FIGHT Community Health Center, managing multiple clinical trials related to HIV treatment and prevention. In 2017, she transitioned out of research and into the role of Education Coordinator for APP students for FIGHT, being the main preceptor for NP and PA students during their clinical rotations. She currently works at AbsoluteCARE, Philadelphia Location as a Primary Care Provider and continuing care with PLWH. Angela is a guest lecturer for multiple Physician Assistant graduate programs in Pennsylvania on topics related to HIV, infectious diseases and health disparities. She has presented nationally at the American Association of the Study of Liver Diseases conference, the Pennsylvania Society for PAs Conference and at ACTHIV. She is on the national board of the American Academy of HIV Medicine, is the chairperson of AAHIVM Physician Assistant committee, and is the creator of the PA Preceptorship Program through the academy connecting PA students with PA Clinicians in HIV medicine for rotations.
